Hire a Shopify developer who builds stores that sell

Looking to launch or improve your Shopify store? I design and build custom Shopify stores focused on one thing: converting visitors into customers. From theme customization to full Shopify Plus builds, I handle the technical side so you can focus on your products.

Who I Work With

Three situations I get called for

You're launching your first store. You have the products and the brand, and what you need is someone to turn that into a working shop: theme customized to your identity, catalog loaded correctly, payments and shipping configured, and a checkout tested with real orders before a single customer sees it. You should be thinking about inventory, not about why the variant selector breaks on mobile.

You're migrating from another platform. Your store already sells, but the platform is holding you back — plugin conflicts, slow admin, rising hosting costs. Migration is the part most people underestimate: products and variants move easily, but customer accounts, order history and, above all, your existing search rankings need a plan. That means a redirect map from every old URL to its new one, checked after launch.

Your store gets traffic but doesn't convert. Visitors arrive and leave. Usually the cause is boring and fixable: a homepage that doesn't say what you sell in the first screen, product pages missing the information that closes the sale, a slow theme loaded with apps you stopped using, or a checkout with unnecessary steps. I audit what's there and rebuild the parts that cost you orders instead of restarting from zero.

What's Included

Everything your store needs, handled end to end

  • 01

    Custom Store Design & Setup

Theme selection and customization built around your products, not around a demo store. Homepage, collection pages, product pages and a checkout flow trimmed of every step that gives a buyer a reason to leave.

  • 02

    Theme Customization

Liquid, CSS and JavaScript modifications on any theme: new sections, custom filtering, product bundles, size guides, sticky add-to-cart. If the theme cannot do it out of the box, I code it.

  • 03

    Product Catalog Setup

CSV import of your full catalog with variants, options, inventory and collections configured properly, plus product descriptions structured for search rather than copy-pasted from a supplier sheet.

  • 04

    Shopify Plus Builds

Custom checkout, multi-currency selling, B2B and wholesale portals, and automation through Shopify Flow for stores that have outgrown the standard plan.

  • 05

    Payment & Shipping Config

Payment gateways, shipping zones and rates, tax settings and local pickup, all tested with real orders before launch so nothing breaks on your first sale.

  • 06

    Shopify SEO & Performance

Meta titles and descriptions across products and collections, product structured data, clean internal linking, compressed images and lean scripts — because a slow store loses buyers before it ever shows them a price.

How It Works

How a Shopify project runs

  1. 01

    Store audit & scope

We go through your products, your competitors and the apps you actually need. If you have an existing store, I review what's slowing it down. You get a scope with a fixed price and a delivery date before anything starts.

  2. 02

    Design & theme setup

Homepage, collection and product page layouts designed around your catalog. You approve the direction before development, so there are no surprises when the build lands.

  3. 03

    Build & catalog load

Liquid sections, custom CSS and JavaScript, product import with variants and collections, payment gateways, shipping zones and taxes. Everything checked on real devices, not just a desktop browser.

  4. 04

    Launch & handover

Test orders end to end, redirects in place if you're migrating, analytics connected, and a walkthrough video so your team can add products and edit content without calling me for every change.

Questions

Shopify development FAQ

How long does it take to build a Shopify store?

A basic store on a customized theme takes 1 to 2 weeks. A fully custom build with bespoke sections, a large catalog and integrations takes 3 to 5 weeks. The timeline depends mostly on how ready your product data and images are when we start.

Can you customize any Shopify theme?

Yes. I work directly with Liquid, CSS and JavaScript, so any theme from the Shopify Theme Store or a third-party marketplace can be modified: new sections, restyled product pages, custom filtering, changes to cart and checkout behaviour.

Do you help with product photography?

I handle image optimization, cropping, compression and consistent sizing across the catalog so your store loads fast. I do not shoot product photography, but I can tell you exactly what formats and dimensions to deliver.

Shopify or Shopify Plus — which one do I need?

Most stores do not need Plus. It makes sense once you are doing around $500K a year or more, or when you specifically need custom checkout, multi-currency selling at scale, or advanced automation. Below that, standard Shopify does the job at a fraction of the cost.

Will I need paid apps?

Fewer than you'd think. Every app adds scripts to your storefront and a monthly fee to your bill, so I only recommend one when it genuinely beats writing the feature into the theme. Reviews, email capture and advanced filtering usually justify an app; layout, badges, tabs and custom sections almost never do.

Can I manage the store myself afterwards?

Yes — that's the point. Shopify's admin is built for non-developers, and I set up the theme so products, collections, banners and page content are editable from the customizer without touching code. You get a walkthrough video covering the parts specific to your store, and I'm available afterwards if you want new features built.

Can you migrate my store from another platform?

Yes. I migrate products, variants, collections, customers and order history from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Squarespace and others, and set up 301 redirects so you keep the rankings you already earned.
